My name is Kent Anderson. Born
and raised in NW Oregon, I have been fishing since my father introduced
me to the sport at an early age. I have a degree in Fisheries Technology
from Mt. Hood CC in Gresham Oregon, followed by nearly 10 years of work
for state and federal fish & Wildlife agencies. In 1995, I was given
the opportunity to work as a fishing guide in Alaska (dream job, right).
I figured that I should at least give it a try, so I resigned my position
with the State Of Oregon and headed north. I quickly realized it was
a job and not a vacation, but I also realized how much I enjoy being
around people. It is very rewarding watching the excitement of someone
catching his or her first salmon. I began guiding year round in 1997.
I'm a member of several conservation and professional organizations
including Northwest Sportfishing
Industry Assc.(NSIA), NW Steelheaders, Oregon Guides and Packers, and Rocky Mtn Elk Foundation.
Annually I donate trips to assist these organizations. I am licensed
by the Oregon State Marine Board, US Coast Guard, conduct annual First
Aid and CPR training and am enrolled in a random drug screen program.
I have hundreds of stories to tell, am willing to listen to yours, and
provide you with another story to tell. Lets Go Fishing.
